Gustave Stresen-Reuter

Ted Stresen-ReuterBorn in Chicago, Mr. Stresen-Reuter arrived in Gran Canaria in 2004 and joined Clevernet S.L. a year later. Mr. Stresen-Reuter has worked in a variety of fields throughout his career but the thing that has most interested him has been interactive design and development.

Mr. Stresen-Reuter graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a major in Spanish (LAS) in 1992. In 1994 he completed a Masters degree in the teaching of English to speakers of other languages. While completing his Masters, he focused on the use of computers in the teaching of languages. In those early days, the web had just been born but Mr. Stresen-Reuter realized the usefulness and potential.

After completing his Masters degree he spent a few years teaching. He soon realized his interest in computer mediated communication was his primary interest and decided to change careers. That decision lead him to work for organizations such as the Instituto Cervantes de Chicago, Ambrosi & Associates, Dantis, and Hinshaw & Culbertson LLP where he was in charge of creating the firm intranet, extranets and for a short time, the firm web site.

Mr. Stresen-Reuter has samples of his work available on his personal web site (in addition to some free software). You can also see a list of his favorite books on this web site. He has also launched his own blog, Tecnotertulia, in which he talks about his experiences living and working in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
